Your role and responsibilities

The Energy Industries division at ABB specializes in delivering small-scale, intelligent, and environmentally friendly projects and operations for clients in the oil, gas, biomedical, energy, and water sectors. By combining integrated automation, digitalization, and electrification solutions with the expertise of our professionals and cutting-edge technologies, we support our clients in achieving effective transformation and improving profitability.

With over 50 years of experience, we continuously innovate and transform traditional working methods in the energy sector using technologies that enhance operational efficiency, reduce risks, and minimize energy consumption and waste generation.

The work model for the role is: #LiHybrid

You will be mainly accountable for:

  • Selection of hardware and software for ongoing projects.

  • Configuration of computers (workstations, servers) and peripheral devices (printers, network devices).

  • Installation and updating of standard software, and deployment of new computer software.

  • Creation of documentation for implemented solutions.

  • Conducting training sessions for users of implemented solutions.

  • Providing support to end users of implemented solutions.

  • Reporting software issues and overseeing their resolution.

Qualifications for the role

  • Graduates of technical fields (preferred: Computer Science or Automation).

  • Knowledge of installation, configuration, and administration of systems and services based on Microsoft solutions (Windows Server, Active Directory).

  • Familiarity with virtualization technologies such as Microsoft Hyper-V, VMware vSphere.

  • Understanding of computer hardware architecture and components (ability to select appropriate hardware for implemented systems).

  • Basic knowledge of networking (used in configuration, integration, and diagnostics of deployed applications).

  • Ability to prepare technical documentation.

  • Valid category B driving license and willingness to travel for business (up to 30% of working time).

  • English language proficiency sufficient for fluent communication.

Nice to Have:

  • Knowledge of Unix/Linux operating systems (installation, configuration, and maintenance).

  • Familiarity with storage systems: disk arrays, backup systems.

  • Understanding of cybersecurity topics.

  • Experience in configuring network solutions.

  • Knowledge of IT infrastructure management and monitoring systems.

  • Familiarity with industrial communication standards (e.g., OPC, MODBUS TCP, etc.)
