Your role and responsibilities

In our Electrification Business Area, Smart Buildings division located in Vittuone, we are looking for an Intern Project Buyer who will be involved in the purchasing group of the Local Business Unit. Reporting to the Procurement Engineering Manager, you will work across several activities in the supply chain management field in a dynamic and challenging environment, interfacing with buyers, suppliers and colleagues from other functions (R&D, quality, planning and fulfilment, engineering, etc.).

The work model for the role is: Hybrid

This role is contributing to the Electrification, Smart Building, Energy Distribution in Italy.

You will be mainly accountable for:

  • Monitor supplier performance during the development of new equipment for new product introduction

  • Manage documentation and perform benchmarking and scouting across different categories (metal, electronics, plastics)

  • Support the ABB project team across different activities that connect suppliers with ABB NPI (New Product Introduction) activities, monitor project execution and keep suppliers on track to meet project GANTT schedules

  • Innovate by creating new tools or AI agents to improve project buyer activity management, support various projects in a global environment

Qualifications for the role

  • Education: A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Management, Mechanical, Electronic or Electrotechnic Engineering.

  • Technical Skills: proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Knowledge of SAP is significant plus.

  • Languages: Ability to communicate fluently in both Italian and English.

  • Soft Skills: A proactive mindset with strong interpersonal and communication skills. Dynamic, broad-minded, result-oriented personality with excellent communication and presentation skills.
