Your role and responsibilities

In this versatile role, you will be responsible for the successful execution of customer projects involving medium-voltage switchgear and other electrical engineering solutions for the Swiss market. You will manage your projects from order handover through delivery and successful completion, acting as the central point of contact for our customers.

You will work closely with the project and engineering teams at our international supply factories as well as with local specialist functions. You will manage a portfolio of projects of varying sizes and ensure compliance with schedule, cost, quality, and contractual requirements.

The work model for this position is: Hybrid #LI-hybrid

This position is part of the Medium Voltage Switchgear business within the Electrification Distribution Solutions division in Switzerland.

Your main responsibilities

  • End-to-end project responsibility: Manage multiple customer projects from order handover through delivery and completion, representing ABB as the central point of contact for our customers.

  • Planning and coordination: Plan and manage schedules, scope of supply, and interfaces, while coordinating collaboration with international supply factories, factory project managers, engineering, production, logistics, and local partners.

  • Commercial project management: Monitor project costs, risks, changes, and claims, identify deviations at an early stage, and implement appropriate actions in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Project close-out and continuous improvement: Take responsibility for customer acceptance, project documentation, and commercial close-out, and actively contribute your experience and lessons learned to the continuous improvement of our project execution processes.

Qualifications for the role:

  • At least three years of experience independently managing multiple customer projects, with demonstrated end-to-end responsibility for projects of appropriate technical and organizational complexity.

  • Demonstrated professional experience with electrical installations, electrical products, or electrical system solutions. A qualification or degree in electrical engineering and experience with medium-voltage switchgear are considered an advantage.

  • Proven practical ability to manage schedules, costs, risks, changes, and interfaces in an industrial, customer-focused, and delivery-oriented environment.

  •  Very good German and English skills, enabling you to independently and confidently conduct demanding customer discussions, manage escalations, and handle commercial and contractual negotiations.

  • A structured, independent, and pragmatic way of working, combined with the ability to prioritize and transparently manage multiple projects of varying sizes and to take a solution-oriented approach when deviations occur.

  • Practical knowledge of commonly used project management and collaboration tools. An entry-level project management certification or a comparable qualification is expected. Applicants with demonstrated practical project management experience and a willingness to complete the certification through our internal project management program will also be considered
