Your Role and Responsibilities

In this position at our Heidelberg site, you will lead a team in the production of miniature circuit breakers (MCB) and ensure a continuous and efficient production process in compliance with process workflows, work instructions, work plans, and all quality and safety standards. As a Production Team Leader (f/m/d), you report to the Production Manager and contribute to the manufacturing of ABB products from individual components. You are responsible for personnel planning while considering deadlines and cost structures to achieve production targets.

Your main responsibilities include:

  • Managing a production area within MCB manufacturing and leading approx. 35 employees

  • Conducting capacity planning and optimizing resources

  • Identifying optimization potential in production processes and equipment

  • Leading continuous improvement (CIP/KVP) projects and workshops

  • Ensuring smooth production operations through leadership, organization, and recruitment in collaboration with HR

  • Guiding and motivating team members and developing their potential

Qualifications for this role

  • Certified Master Craftsman, Technician, or comparable technical qualification

  • Several years of experience in production or production-related areas

  • Experience in leading teams in a manufacturing environment

  • Excellent knowledge of manufacturing processes and manual assembly operations

  • Proven experience with continuous improvement projects and Lean Management (e.g., KAIZEN, Lean Six Sigma)

  • Good knowledge of occupational health and safety as well as quality standards according to established ISO norms

  • Quick comprehension, resilience, and strong team orientation

  • Fluent German (spoken and written) and good English skills

  • Willingness to work in shifts and occasional Saturday work

  • High level of empathy and assertiveness
